Over the past eight years, providing for the security of the United States has become a huge business, funded by taxpayers at the federal, state, and local level. Thousands if not hundreds of thousands of jobs depend on the continued perception that there exists a vast alien menace that must be guarded against at all costs lest there be another 9/11.
