State readies ballot boxes

Paul signs decorate many yards throughout Port Huron. In the past three months, Paul has raised almost $20 million, rivaling only Clinton in the money race, but he has yet to make a big splash in any primary or caucus. The enthusiasm, and frustration, was palpable next to a dirt-stained pile of snow off Pine Grove Avenue in Port Huron, where more than 30 Ron Paul supporters waved, jumped and hollered at the passing cars late Monday afternoon.

"The young kids are going to be the ones to pull this off," said Dianne Szostak, St. Clair County coordinator for Ron Paul's Michigan campaign. Szostak, along with city council member Mark Byrne, said he believes Paul will make a bigger showing than most polls indicate.

"Ron Paul's like you and me. He's a doctor, he's delivered 4,000 babies," Szostak said.
